Imran Shafi

Imran Shafi OBE is the Director for AI Policy for the UK Government, at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Imran is responsible for cross-cutting AI policy development – including the UK’s strategic domestic and international approach to AI, AI regulation and compute policy.
Imran was previously Director for Digital Infrastructure, Private Secretary to the Prime Minister and held various roles at HM Treasury. He has also worked for McKinsey & Company and the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee. He holds degrees from Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
