James Teo
Clinical Director of AI and Data and Professor of Neurology,
King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Professor James Teo is a Professor of Neurology at Kings College Hospital; and has extensive informatics, health data and AI experience with more than a decade building AI systems and data lakes in real world hospitals. He is co-founder of one the earliest health language AI research groups CogStack, Clinical Director of Data Science and AI at Kings College Hospital and Guys & St Thomas Hospital, and Chief Medical Officer of the AI Centre for Value-based Healthcare.
He led the set-up data governance committees on patient data with the Kings Electronic Records Research Interface, Guys’ Hospital Clinical Research Advisory Group and the AI Centre's Data Allocation Committee for safe information governance in data science research; and is now on the UK Health Research Authority’s Confidentiality Advisory Group.
Currently, he is on a number of national and regional working groups including: the NHS 10 Year Plan Working Group on Data & Technology, the Department of Health & Social Care AI Advisory Group and the OneLondon Technical Design Authority. He continues to be a practicing clinical neurologist treating patients with stroke and neurorehabilitation.
