Nicola is a Chartered Internal Auditor and the founder of Audit Data Hub - a dynamic start-up delivering data analytics training specifically designed for beginners. Graduating as a Mechanical Engineer, Nicola began her career within the aerospace industry before pivoting into the technology industry. Nicola has held a range of senior positions across IT consultancy, AI Product Management and Technology Assurance. She has utilised her ability to translate technology jargon into plain English, to influence business leaders to embrace technology and to upskill beginners in applied data analytics. Following a succession of corporate scandals, Nicola spotted a gap in the auditor training market for those unable to analyse data to identify organisational risk. She designed an innovative teaching approach to plug this gap. After failing to obtain support from the major audit regulators, Nicola took a different approach. Utilising social media, she successfully circumvented the UK gate keepers and collaborated with professionals around the world to publicly challenge the lack of digital evolution across the audit profession. Nicola has reported directly to a range of public sector corporate boards, providing advice and independent assurance on the management of technology risk including Cyber Security, AI safety, Technology Governance and digital spend benefit realisation. Nicola is now preparing to expand her business offering into leadership coaching – to provide targeted support to help corporate and technology leaders adapt their leadership skills for today’s business challenges. Enabling them to overcome the barriers emerging from the changing complexities of today’s workplace – linked to technology.
