Sam Hancock is the Global Head of Data Science at Octopus Energy Group. His teams unlock the power of data across Octopus Energy, driving the company forward in its mission to make a significant green dent on the climate emergency.
Sam started his career working in credit risk analytics at Capital One and credit matching startup HD Decisions, before switching to develop self-driving cars at Google, leading analytics and strategy for their cutting-edge AI operations organisation.
For the past five years, Sam has dedicated his expertise to tackling the climate emergency, serving as COO of two climate tech startups before joining the senior leadership team of Octopus Energy in 2024.
